About Hounddog's Pizza

Hounddog's Pizza is a pizza restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. It is listed at 2657 N High St, Columbus, OH 43202, which places it among the local businesses of Columbus that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 10 am–11 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (614) 261-4686. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, hounddogspizza.com.

Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 4,373 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pizza restaurants in Columbus.

Columbus is in Ohio, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Columbus follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This is a Columbus staple. Anyone visiting should have Hounddog’s on their short list of restaurants to check out. I asked them if they could hire a doctor on staff to replace my blood with their Smokin’ Joes sauce, but they told me the FDA only has them approved for blood transfusions with their homemade ranch. Suffice it to say, I am a ranch man now.

Does this pizza look like it has Italian sausage on it? I heard about Hound Dog pizza on Fb Columbus Foodies and I am a foodie so I drove 30 minutes away to try their pizza. When I got home and got me and my husband a couple slices a piece I realized there wasn’t any Italian sausage that I ordered and paid for so I was a little disappointed. So, I called Hound Dogs and told them I didn’t get Italian sausage on my pizza like I ordered. The woman on the other end said something to the person who made the pizza. Then, the woman tells me that the person who made the pizza said that they did put Italian sausage on the pizza. I instantly felt I was called a liar. Then, the woman tells me I can bring in the pizza so they can check it. Basically, wanted me to drive 30 minutes back to the pizza shop to prove there wasn’t any Italian sausage on my pizza. Unbelievable. I told the woman on the phone that I will never order another pizza from them again. So, there’s my first experience with Hound Dog pizza. My husband laughed about what their motto is on their pizza boxes.

I used to love Hounddogs Pizza, it used to be one of my favorite pizza places in Columbus. This time we came in the pizza was kind of bland. We were really disappointed in the flavor. We also had the spinach mushrooms as an appetizer that also weren’t super flavorful. Hopefully it was just an off day, we will come back soon to try again.

The twice baked potatos were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend those! The wings were good, I'm picky when it comes to wings and these were about right on the edge of me not being able to eat them. Also the BBQ was Spicy 🀣πŸ₯΅ The pizza was good, but SO greasy. Granted we did get the garlic butter crust so that was probably why so I'd skip that next time. Also wasn't a fan of their pizza sauce. Maybe the type of seasonings they used or something? Either way I didn't like it. The girl was nice who took our order and brought our food out.

Always my favorite. This was my first time picking up for home. Hounddog’s has a pizza that actually stands out. It came out loaded, cheesy, and baked with plenty of color on top, which I liked right away. The sausage and banana peppers both came through well, and the whole thing had that rich, hearty, classic Columbus pizza shop feel. This is not bland pizza and it is definitely not forgettable. It makes a strong impression fast, and I’d gladly order it again.
